Silence is Not Golden: The Importance of Mandated Reporting

This 3-hour continuing education training designed for social workers of all levels, counselors, teachers and medical personnels. This training explores the complexities of mandated reporting and the emotional and professional challenges that often arise. Participants will gain an understanding of their legal and ethical responsibilities, the impact of reporting on clients and families, and strategies for trauma-informed communication throughout the process.

Objectives:

Obj. #1 At the end of this training, participants will be able classify and evaluate methods, policies and protocol of various agencies in the reporting for Child abuse, Vulnerable Adult Abuse and Intimate Partner Violence. 

Obj. #2 At the end of this training, participants will identify how to provide trauma-informed care to individuals/families who are impacted by an abuse report. 

Obj. #3 At the end of this training, participants demonstrate knowledge of their attachment and conflict management style.

Obj. #4 At the end of this training, participants will recognize what constitutes a mandated reporter.

Obj. #5 At the end of this training, participants will demonstrate knowledge of what the various types of abuse are.

Obj. #6 At the end of this training, participants will list signs of abuse and neglect specifically in children, elders/vulnerable adults, intimate partner violence and suspected victims of human trafficking.

 

Fruitful Consulting, LLC. has been approved as a provider for continuing education by the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists; Application# (25.33). Social Workers will receive (3 hours) of continuing education for participation in this program. Attendance verification and program evaluations will be required in order to receive continuing education credit. Certificates will be received at the end of the program.
